How come...?

when i was younger, i be walking around the house, and i noticed a cut on the bottom of my foot. But i never feel anything that cut me. I wonder why is it that i couldn't feel it? Mind you i can quality pain when cut but in attendance was that one time i didn't. why be that?How come...?
If you walk around greatly in showing feet the skin on your foot gets tougher and tougher. Having this deposit of dry skin makes it harder to get the impression injuries.
the object might own been inbuilt in a rug and you feel a bit of pain ,but not satisfactory to realize it was truly a cut
